Hello, Nathan
The Pack and I welcomed Nathan last week. He's a 7 year old, American Pitbull Terrier. He came to us just for boarding (not because of any serious behaviour issues), and it's been a treat to watch Nathan join the group. For most of the pack, it's their first time really having the opportunity to bond with this breed. He's extremely respectful and totally submissive, with only light moments of excitement. A dream on the walk, and extremely receptive to corrections, being misunderstood (as a pitbull) is an understatement.
Although Nathan doesn't have any intense issues, the [unnecessary] pitbull ban, in Ontario, has kept him, and most pitbulls, from socializing with both dogs and people. Here is where it is important that when he is in "social environments", the surrounding dogs be balanced, and the humans knowledgable. Naturally, it took a few days for Nathan to adjust, but he did so quite easily.
Here are some pictures a his stay, so far. He goes home tomorrow, but we'll get a video posted shortly of him interacting with other dogs.
We hope you enjoy these as much as we've enjoyed having him.

The Walk
Over the weekend, we took Nathan along with us to the flea market. He did superbly in an environment filled with people, dogs, commotion, and hands reaching out at him. Can't get much more social than that. Here are some highlights of the day:
